Nasal catarrh or a cold, accompanied by a pus-like sticky discharge, may be cured in its acute stage by sipping a glass of hot water to which have been added five drops of iodine tincture. A person allergic to iodine, especially in cases of exophthalmic goitre, may obtain the same quick result by using five drops of camphor tincture instead of the iodine.
